CHILDREN POLICY

At Hoi An Unique Travel, we warmly welcome families and young travelers to the unique cultural experiences of Hoi An. This policy is established to ensure a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for all guests participating in our tours, especially children. By booking a tour that includes children, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with all regulations set forth in this policy.

1. AGE DEFINITIONS AND PRICING POLICY

To ensure fairness and clarity, we apply a pricing policy based on the child’s age on the tour departure date.

  • Adult: Defined as a guest aged 10 years and older. The standard adult ticket price (100%) applies.
  • Child: Defined as a guest aged from 5 to under 10 years old. The ticket price for a child is 50% of the adult price. This price includes the same services as an adult ticket (separate seat, meal if included).
  • Infant: Defined as a guest under 5 years old. Infants are free of charge on the condition that they share a seat and services with a parent or guardian. Any additional costs incurred are the responsibility of the accompanying adult.

Age Verification: We reserve the right to request valid identification (passport, birth certificate) to verify a child’s age when necessary to apply the correct pricing policy.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARENTS OR GUARDIANS

The safety and experience of a child are a collaborative effort between us and the family. The accompanying parent or guardian has the following responsibilities:

  • Constant and Direct Supervision: You must maintain direct and close supervision of your children at all times throughout the tour—on vehicles, at attractions, during meals, and during all activities.
  • Behavior Management: You are responsible for ensuring your child’s behavior is appropriate for the surroundings, does not create excessive noise, does not involve running in potentially dangerous areas, does not damage property, and respects the experience of other guests in the group.
  • Consequences of Disruptive Behavior: In the event that a child’s behavior severely and negatively impacts the safety or overall experience of the group, our tour guide reserves the right to issue a reminder. If the situation does not improve, we reserve the right to request the family to separate from the group at a safe, public location. In such a case, no refund will be provided for the remainder of the tour.

3. PARTICIPATION RESTRICTIONS AND TOUR SUITABILITY

Not all tours are suitable for all age groups. We always prioritize safety above all else.

  • Information on the Website: Any minimum age limits or physical fitness recommendations (if applicable) will be clearly stated in the detailed description of each tour on the hoianuniquetravel.com website. You are responsible for carefully reading this information before booking.
  • Guide’s Right of Refusal: Our on-site tour guide has the full authority to assess and make the final decision on whether or not to permit a child to participate in a specific activity (e.g., a challenging cycling segment, an activity requiring fine motor skills) if a safety risk is perceived.
  • Safety Equipment: For activities requiring safety equipment (e.g., life jackets for boat trips), the parent or guardian is responsible for ensuring the child uses the equipment correctly, that it is the proper size, and that all related instructions are followed.

4. SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT FOR CHILDREN

To clearly manage customer expectations, we wish to inform you of the services and equipment that we DO NOT provide as part of the standard tour price:

  • Specialized child safety car seats.
  • Specially prepared meals, menus, or milk for infants and young children.
  • Babysitting or private childcare services.
  • Strollers, baby carriers, or other personal items.

Parents or guardians are responsible for preparing all necessary items to ensure the comfort and meet the personal needs of their children throughout the trip.

5. OBLIGATIONS WHEN BOOKING

When making a booking that includes children, you are obligated to accurately declare the name and age of all participating young members. Intentionally misrepresenting a child’s age to receive an incorrect price may result in a refusal of service at the time of departure or a request to pay the outstanding cost difference.

We know you are unique, so we're here to create unique experiences for you
